Getting around

By Plane

  • Lamezia Terme Airport (SUF): It is the largest in the region and has direct flights from many European cities.
  • Reggio Calabria Airport (REG): It has direct flights from some Italian cities and occasionally from other European cities.

  • At the airport, taxis, shuttle services, or car rentals are available for your stay as needed.  *This is advised as there is no Uber, taxis or similar option available.

    • By Train

  • Long-distance trains: Trenitalia offers high-speed trains (Frecciarossa) and intercity trains connecting major Italian cities (like Rome, Milan, Naples) with various locations in Calabria, such as Lamezia Terme, Reggio Calabria, and Catanzaro.
  • Regional trains: Once in Calabria, regional trains connect the cities and smaller towns.

    • By Automobile

  • Highways: If you prefer to travel by car, you can use the A2 motorway (Autostrada del Mediterraneo), which crosses Calabria from north to south.
  • Car rental: You can rent a car at any airport or major city to explore the region independently. 

    *This is advised as there is no Uber, taxis or similar option in Calabria.

    *Transport to the wedding venue and back will be arranged for the Saturday from Hotel Villa Ersilia and the Borgo Convento    , and a schedule shared closer to the date.
